"Idioms was a book of humor, subtle horror, some though provoking scenes, and tender character driven stories. It made me laugh, think, feel, and cry. Familiarity is the first story and I don't know how one could mix in horror, revenge, tenderness, and love into one story, but the author did. The ending was also a shocking surprise! Madness was also a story that sparked my imagination, curiosity, and tenderness of the old man that was the main character in the story. The last story, Pixie Dust, was my favorite and made me smile and remember the good times that I had with family and friends. It made me think how sometimes bad things can happen out of your control, yet maybe there is a reason why we don't always understand. This story touched me and made me realize how precious time is with our family and friends. Idioms is worth the time to read and see these often used phrases in an entertaining and different light!" -SB

So, I've had this book a few months and kept pushing it aside. I picked it up last week and read it in a day. I did not want to put it down. As with John's other books, there are twists and turns. Always a surprise in the next chapter. WOW! JB

"Like all good mysteries, I was immersed before the end of the first chapter and rarely put the book down until I finished. Being a nature lover, I really enjoyed the environmental detail and I feel like I "know" part of Augusta even though I've never visited.
